Our 3 hour (9:00-12:00) Cardinal Kickers Camp is designed specifically for the very youngest of players; Pre-k (3-4 yr olds) & K (5 yr olds). Our promise is that they will enjoy skill development and social interaction in a fun learning environment. Our curriculum designed and coached by Academy Director, Alan Marsh is the best discovery-based practice for young child development. For this age group the program is designed to improve fine and gross motor skills, foot-eye coordination, agility and balance while encouraging teamwork and basic problem-solving.

Each day takes on a new theme from Toy Story to Super Hero’s. Every activity and game will be based around the theme of the day, with water breaks embedded into each segment.

9:00 AM: Warm-up activities that focus on knowing body parts particularly different parts of the foot, understanding different commands such as stop, go, fast, slow, back, forward, jump, hop, turn and freeze. These are intertwined with games that develop dribbling and turning and thus promote increasing familiarity with the body and ball, auditory and visual skills and spatial awareness.

10:00 AM: Small-group team games and activities that focus on a technical skill component for that day. This may range from dribbling, passing and shooting and usually involves a story and an end goal. It is the introduction to the concept of winning and losing as a team.

11:00 AM: Skill Competitions and Challenges

11:30 AM: Let the Game be the best teacher. Children get to play the game to goals, with sidelines in a fairly unstructured manner (no fixed positions).
